The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announces a disbursement of 148 million dollars in favor of Guinea, said Monday the Guinean Minister of Economy and Finance Mamadi Camara, in an information note.

This budget support comes under the Rapid Credit Facility (RCF), approved by the IMF's Board of Directors. According to Mamadi Camara, this agreement, together with the debt relief obtained on April 13, under the Disaster Relief and Relief Fund (CCRT), will help Guinea meet the urgent balance needs. payments and budget support resulting from the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigation measures.

Funding from the IMF will also help catalyze financial support from other donors. Similarly, he said, the financial envelope obtained will provide "part of the financing necessary for the implementation of the government's economic response plan, which revolves around three axes including the health component, the social component and the private sector support component.

"The government has taken important steps to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of the resources mobilized to deal with the COVID-19 crisis," the Guinean minister stressed.
