On Wednesday, December 03, 2025, the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) announced that they had maintained at 3.25% their main key rate, the rate at which it lends its resources to banks commercial.

The decision of the BCEAO was taken by the committee of monetary policy of the institution. It also decided to keep at 5.25 % the interest rate on the marginal lending window, the rate at which banks are refinanced with it. These two rates have been fixed at these levels since June 16 last year. According to the governor of the BCEAO Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, these decisions result from the analysis of evolution recent economic activity, prices, and the external situation of UEMOA and short-term economic prospects.
