A press conference was held on Thursday 15 January 2026 at the Ascencia Group headquarters in Marcory-Biétry, allowing the launch of the “Tech'Elles” program. The organization is scheduled from 22 to 23 January 2026 in Abidjan.

German Cooperation, through the Giz, organizes, in collaboration with the European Union and the Ivorian Government, the “Tech'Elles” program, an event dedicated to the digital inclusion of young girls and young women. This large-scale initiative is a continuation of the training-employment programs already implemented by German Cooperation and the European Union. These actions aim to provide young girls and young women with technical skills and adapted professionals, in order to facilitate their sustainable integration into economic sectors of the future.

The “Tech'Elles” program is according to René Megela, component manager at GIZ, “a platform for meetings and exchanges with professionals who highlight creativity, audacity and potential young women from Côte d'Ivoire.”

According to the latter, this program is intended also a showcase of female excellence in industrial professions and of the digital.

Designed as an inspirational space and of opportunities, “Tech'Elles” will connect participants to companies, institutions and actors committed to the equality of chances.

He also said that “the event helps young women to dare, to train and to build their future in sectors job carriers, especially industry and technology.”

It will be about the next 22 and 23 to put Highlight the diversity of jobs that are recruiting today and shaping the economy of tomorrow: digital and cybersecurity jobs, mechanics industrial and automotive, agricultural mechanics, digital entrepreneurship, among others.

Plenary lectures, thematic workshops, as well as meetings with successful women models will be held in order to to promote access to professional networks and opportunities for career.

Note that, according to available statistics, women remain under-represented in the digital sector, with only 30% presence, in Africa and in the world, despite the rapid rise of technologies.
