Guinea officially launched on Thursday 15 January in Conakry, its digital platform for the management of agricultural inputs. It will strengthen productivity and secure the sector.

Worn by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, the digital platform aims to modernise producers' access to fertilizers, seeds and other strategic inputs, in a context where the Performance of the agricultural sector remains a central issue for security food and the country's economic growth. It is designed as a tool for management and transparency, the platform makes it possible to centralize the operations related to the ordering, distribution and monitoring of inputs agricultural. It aims to reduce the structural dysfunctions of the sector, in particular delivery delays, quality problems and inequalities in access between producers.

The initiative was developed with the support of the Project Emergency Food Production Facility (PPAU), financed by the African Bank of development (BAD). It is part of a wider dynamic of reform of the Guinean agricultural sector, initiated at the end of the États Généraux du Sectoral agropastoral held in 2024.

By focusing on the digitalization to restructure a strategic segment of its economy, the authorities hope to contribute to a better allocation of inputs, to a reduction of logistical costs and more effective targeting of policies of support for producers.
