The Ivorian government adopted on April 1st, during the Council of Ministers, the decree ratifying the agreement concerning the establishment of Shelter-Afrique Development Bank.

With the ratification of the agreement establishing Shelter-Afrique Development Bank, Côte d'Ivoire strengthens the mobilization of resources for real estate. Its establishment in Abidjan is expected to facilitate housing finance and reduce the market deficit. The bank's setup in Abidjan is part of a strategy to position the country as a hub for housing-related financial flows in West Africa.

According to Amadou Coulibaly, "the ratification of the statutes of this pan-African bank dedicated to housing finance in Africa will allow our country to benefit, in particular, from significant financial support for the production of affordable and sufficient housing units."

The establishment of Shelter-Afrique Development Bank in Côte d'Ivoire is expected to strengthen the financing capacities of the real estate sector. The institution mobilizes resources from states and capital markets to support housing projects for real estate developers and local financial institutions.

This mechanism contributes to structuring the housing value chain by facilitating access to credit for operators and supporting the development of real estate programs. Côte d'Ivoire's integration into this mechanism is expected to improve the mobilization of long-term capital and support the sector's transformation.
