On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the signing took place of the Country Engagement Framework (CEP) 2026-2027 between the Minister of Finance, Budget, Digital Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Tahir Hamid Nguilin, and the Director General of Global Practices and international partnerships of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

The ceremony brought together members of the government, technical and financial partners, as well as a delegation of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). This ceremony marks the renewal and strengthening of strategic cooperation between Republic of Chad and the Islamic Development Bank. The new framework defines the areas of collaboration as well as the priority projects to be implemented implemented over the period 2026-2027.

Since Chad joined the IDB, over 1.1 billion dollars have been approved in financing, with a portfolio assets of 474 million dollars covering 19 transactions. These investments mainly concern transport infrastructures, access to water, education, health, and Islamic microfinance.
