The Moroccan National Security Services presented on Friday, December 23, 2022, the results of their intervention during 2022. At least that is what the document published by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) states.

The year 2022 was marked by the continued gradual and complete lifting of preventive measures aimed at containing the Covid-19 pandemic. The year saw the resumption of the advanced pace of issuance and generalization of the new generation of the National Electronic Identity Card (CNIE). Indeed, all Moroccan citizens had benefited from this card without any condition related to age. It allowed them to benefit from identification services, in person or online, using the “National Trusted Third Parties” platform and the “digital identity” space, developed by the DGSN.

The “National Trusted Third Parties” platform is an information mechanism developed by the technical services of the DGSN to facilitate citizens' access to the various services provided by the public and private sectors, so as to protect personal data. It also allows the holder of this card to identify himself and verify his identity and his use in various administrative and banking operations instantly, automatically and securely with service providers, whether in physical presence using the card equipped with an electronic chip, or online using the “Digital Identity” system.
