The CFA franc, the common currency of the CEMAC and UEMOA countries, has changed against the Cedi of Ghana. According to Ecofin, the value of the CFA franc does not yet exceed that of Ghana, but it has improved considerably.

An analysis of the interest-rate curve between the two currencies shows that the Cedi has continuously lost value on the CFA since November 2012. The structure of the two currencies seems to be the key element in their performance against each other. The currency of the UEMOA countries benefits from stable rates against the Euro, which is a strong currency at the international level, and a guarantee from France.
