Currencies are changing gradually on Wednesday. Les American, Australian and New Zealand dollars are up. Le Franc Switzerland is also on the rise.

The American dollar changed little, at $1.1486 for one euro, after gaining 0.3% the day before to reach a high of seven months.

The dollar index -- which measures the American currency against the yen, the franc, the euro, the pound sterling and two other currencies -- remained stable at 100.16, after climbing to 100.25 at the end of the session Tuesday.

The greenback is supported by both flows towards safe havens and by reducing expectations of a fall in short-term Federal Reserve rate, while members of the board of The Fed remain deeply divided on the trajectory to take.

The risk-sensitive Australian dollar erased a drop of 0.5% that had led to a low of several weeks and rose slightly against the greenback.

The New Zealand dollar rebounded after touching a seven-month low, the result of an unemployment rate at its highest since 2016. Recently, it increased by 0.3%. The New Zealand currency has briefly fell to a 12-year low against the Aussie.

The Swiss franc remained on the rise, while the U.S. dollar held steady throughout the session, after reaching its highest level since April 1 at the very end of the session on Tuesday.

The yen gained as much as 0.5% at some point before to return to equilibrium, at 153.62 yen to the dollar. The Swiss franc has rose by 0.3% against the dollar at one point, before settling recently to 0.8090 francs per dollar, an increase of 0.2%.
