The latest debt business report Public of Cameroon arrested at the end of September 2025, highlights the rise in power of AFG Bank in managing the State's domestic liabilities. The bank appears explicitly in detailed structured debt tables banking as counterparty to several agreements for the assignment of claims signed in 2025.

Analysis of data relating to the stock of Domestic debt excluding outstanding payments highlights three major transactions attributable to the institution, for a cumulative amount of 50 billion FCFA.

This wallet includes an envelope of 30 billion FCFA corresponding to the transfer of receivables held by the independent power producer Globeleq, via its subsidiaries DPDC and KPDC. In addition, 10 billion FCFA linked to the takeover of Port claims Autonomous City of Douala (PAD), as well as an identical portion of 10 billion FCFA relating to the commitments of the public telecommunications operator Camtel. These amounts, present both in the outstanding amount of structured debt and in the actual disbursements, confirm the concrete mobilization of funds for the benefit of the entities concerned.

Beyond the amounts, the AFG Bank's recurrence of debt assignments in 2025 sends a signal on the evolution of domestic debt management in Cameroon. She illustrates the increasing use of banking solutions to absorb the rigidities of State treasury, in a context of strengthened budgetary discipline and increased monitoring of debt indicators.
