From July 13 to 15, 2022, the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Dakar (Pad), Aboubacar Sedikh Bèye, dispatched a mission to Mali to discuss the cancellation of storage fees for goods in transit to Mali after the lifting of ECOWAS sanctions.

These post-embargo measures in favor of Malian transit include the cancellation of storage fees for goods in transit to Mali. This decision takes effect from the beginning of the embargo against Mali (January 7, 2022 in Accra) until July 3, 2022, the date of its lifting. "This important decision taken by the Autonomous Port of Dakar was supported and validated by its Board of Directors, in which Mali sits as a director," the port said in a statement. This shows the extent to which Mali is involved in the strategic orientations of the Autonomous Port of Dakar. As a reminder, Mali, through Emase (Les Entrepôts du Mali au Sénégal) was fully involved in the development of the Strategic Development Plan (2019-2023) of the Port of Dakar.
