The State of Mali, through its National Treasury and Public Accounts Department, raised on January 13, 2021 an amount of 27.500 billion FCFA (41.250 million euros) on the financial market of the West African Monetary Union ( UMOA) at the end of its issue of assimilable treasury bonds (BAT) with a maturity of 182 days.

Out of an overall amount put up for auction of 25 billion FCFA, the UMOA-Titres agency, organizer of the operation, identified overall bids from investors of 50.007 billion FCFA, i.e. a coverage rate of the amount put up for auction of 200.03%.

At the end of the auction operation, the Malian public treasury retained 27.500 billion FCFA and rejected the remaining 22.507 billion FCFA, ie an absorption rate of 54.99%.

The weighted average return was 4.14%. On the other hand, the weighted average rate stood at 4.05% and the marginal rate at 4.15%.

The securities issued are redeemable on the first business day following the maturity date set at July 14, 2021. However, interest is payable in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the bonds, which is one million FCFA.
