The Minister of Economy and Finance, Romuald Wadagni transferred part of the customs staff by decree dated August 13, 2021, on the proposal of the Director General of Customs.

A total of 11 inspectors have been newly appointed to head the departmental directorates and other directorates or structures under the supervision of customs such as the information management directorate, the private office directorate, the intelligence directorate and customs investigations and the general inspection of services. In addition to the newly appointed inspectors, 45 other agents have been promoted to various positions of responsibility. Port of Cotonou, airport, receipts-collections, borders, … in short, several customs structures have a new boss. It should be noted that the situation has changed, and it is now a performance contract that binds managers to the administration.
