The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) officially installed Jean-Claude Kassi Brou on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the institution's headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. The 6th governor was sworn in before exercising his new function in accordance with the statutes and regulations of the Central Bank.

Governors of African central banks, BCEAO staff, heads of international financial and diplomatic institutions, etc. witnessed the solemn assumption of office by Jean-Claude Kassi Brou. In reality, the BCEAO had 6 governors. This is the sixth after Abdoulaye Fadiga, Alassane Ouattara, Charles Konan Banny, Philippe-Henri Dacoury-Tabley and Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.

After renewing his gratitude to the Heads of State and Government of UEMOA for his appointment, he assured that he will keep the flame of the BCEAO burning with devotion and in accordance with the statutes and regulations of the Central Bank as well as international commitments. He also intends to strengthen cooperation links between the BCEAO and Senegal, the other member states of UEMOA, the African Central Banks and the international financial institutions.
