The Pakistani rupee maintained its upward momentum against the US dollar, appreciating 0.03% on the interbank market on Friday. At the close, the currency settled at 282.47, a gain of Re 0.09. On Thursday, the currency settled at 282.56

The British pound moved closer to its highest level in two weeks against the dollar on Friday as traders continued to digest Thursday's Bank of England meeting, which saw interest rates cut to 4% as well as the first new central bank vote.
