UEMOA financial market: Burkina Faso receives 43,861 billion CFA francs

To cover the financing needs of its budget, the State of Burkina Faso collected on July 30, 2025 from investors in the UEMOA financial market the sum of 43.861 billion CFA francs following its issuance of a simultaneous auction of 364-day, 3 and 5-year treasury bills and bonds.

In detail, the 364-day BAT raised 27.541 billion FCFA, with an interest rate of 8.82%. Regarding 3-year OATs, subscriptions reached 6.776 billion FCFA, with an interest rate of 9%. Of this amount, 671 million FCFA were rejected. 5-year OATs, for their part, brought in a total of 4.965 billion FCFA, at an interest rate of 7.69%. Finally, 7-year OATs made it possible to mobilize 13.475 billion CFA francs, with an interest rate of 8.01%

This operation involved several investors from the UEMOA zone. For the 364-day BAT, Burkinabe investors were the most dynamic, with a contribution of 12.174 billion CFA francs. They are followed by the Ivorians with 11.037 billion FCFA and the Beninese with 2.161 billion FCFA. Malians subscribed for 1.510 billion FCFA, while Guineans, Togolese and Senegalese respectively donated 500 million, 155 million and 4 million

FCFA.

Regarding 3-year OATs, Burkinabe subscribers once again took the lead with 5.025 billion FCFA, followed by the Beninese with 1.751 billion FCFA and the Ivorians with 250 million FCFA.

On 5-year OATs, Togolese investors distinguished themselves with 2.350 billion FCFA, ahead of the Burkinabè with 1.515 billion FCFA and Ivorians with 1.100 billion FCFA. Finally, for 7-year OATs, the proposals came mainly from Burkina Faso with 8.200 billion FCFA, followed by Togo with 3.525 billion FCFA and Côte d'Ivoire with 1.750

billion FCFA.
