In Burkina, the export of raw cashew nuts is suspended throughout the national territory until further notice, the government announced in an interministerial statement dated 28 March 2025.

Through this press release dated 28 March 2025, made public by the Ministry in charge of Commerce, the Government announces the immediate suspension of the export of raw cashew nuts. According to the executive, this measure aims to make available the raw cashew nut used as a raw material by industrial processing units at the national level

Indeed, this press release underlines that this decision is aimed at strengthening the local industry and creating more added value on the territory. It is therefore indicated that, the issuance of Special Export Authorizations (ESAs) has stopped. Also, operators with a valid ESA have seven days to finalize their procedures
