Project Actors Community for Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS-Burkina) are at a three-day meeting in Gourcy. From October 1 to 3, 2025, the actors take stock of the activities of 2025 and validate the microprojects municipalities that will be included in the 2026 Annual Budget Work Plan (PTBA).

It is financed by the World Bank and covers three regions of the country, at namely the Yaadga, the Liptako and the Kuilse. The PCRSS-Burkina is designed for strengthen the resilience of communities and contribute to their stabilization. He is structured around five components, including inclusive recovery, support for territorial development and regional dialogue.

The year 2026 will be the last stage of this project. The Gourcy regional workshop is thus intended to be a framework for reflection and planning, where lessons learned from the 2025 implementation will be used to guide the priorities for the last year of project execution.

According to the governor of the region of Yaadga, Thomas Yamba, in terms of balance sheet as of September 30, 2025, it is noted that numerous acquisitions and infrastructures have been carried out in various areas such as education, health, agriculture, livestock, access to drinking water and renewable energies. For the governor, “these The results give us cause for satisfaction and I congratulate all of actors who contributed to it. For the preparation of the PTBA 2026 in our region, community consultations have been met and the needs of the populations have been identified. These needs were synthesized and prioritized during provincial workshops. The present workshop should allow us to review the microprojects identified in order to to validate them.”

According to Thomas Yamba, a budgetary reallocation is envisaged for PTBA 2026 in order to put greater emphasis on the actions of component 2, devoted to stabilization and territorial development. According to the organizers, this approach aims to consolidate the achievements and meet the urgent needs of local populations.
