The President General of Côte d'Ivoire Enterprises (Cgeci), Patronat Ivoirien, Jean-Marie Ackah thinks that the State must review its policy and initiate “fiscal reforms relevant” since, in his opinion, taxation is “not sufficiently incentive” and “too burdensome.”

During the first edition of the opinion piece Le Patronat in front of the press, Jean-Marie Ackah called for “daring and imaginative tax reforms that will make it possible to die Work on taxation that is in line with the country's “economic and development” objectives. He noted that, in addition to the taxation that affects formal businesses, “we have a large informal sector that is virtually exempt from taxation” and then insisted on the approach to a solution that involves broadening the tax base. For him, “When you average economic aggregates, you arrive at an assessment of Ivorian taxation that is not satisfactory.” Faced with a Community standard of 20% in the UEMOA region compared to 25% in emerging countries, the State finds the official rate of 12.5%.

An expected inflation rate of 4.7% in 2022 compared with 2.4% in 2020 and 0.8% in 2019 has been projected by the State of Côte d'Ivoire. The CGECI, the main interlocutor of the State with nearly 250 representation mandates, has for its part contributed 80% of Côte d'Ivoire's tax revenues.
