The SIFCA group, is a subsidiary of the African rubber plantation company (SAPH) located in Côte d'Ivoire. According to an assessment, its turnover has increased but the parent company's profit is deteriorating by 25%.

In the first half of 2022, the subsidiary of the SIFCA group recorded a turnover of 11% compared to the same period in 2021, to establish FCFA 103.845 billion (€158.3 millions). This increase is the result of an increase in the average rubber selling price, up 17%, and at a more favorable dollar/FCFA parity. But rubber sales fell by 6% during the first half of 2022, in volume.

On the other hand, for SAPH, an African rubber plantation company, the net profit deteriorated by 25% to FCFA 6,019 billion. In reality, the result is being affected by rising energy and input costs. In its activity report, the result was negatively impacted by a high incidence of tax inspection and new tax regulations such as the introduction of the Single Export Duty on rubber at 1.5% of turnover and the new price formula of purchases to village planters who affect their margins. With global prices averaging $1,7164 per kilo compared to 1,6580 yen in the first half of 2021, the downward trend of Sicom observed in the 2nd quarter was confirmed in the 3rd quarter if prices appreciated slightly during the first half of 2022.
