On Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Abidjan, Colonel Kouassi Yao Julien, Director General of the Directorate of Maritime and Port Affairs (DGAMP) said during the signing of an M& eacute; memorandum of understanding for road safety that its management aims to work for maritime transport safety in accordance with international standards.

“Management must work to ensure the safety of crews and ships in accordance with the instructions of the International Maritime Organization (IOM), in particular the Chapter IV of the Convention on the Safety of Life at Sea... which recommends to governments, the provision of radiocommunication services,” says Colonel Kouassi, Director General of the Directorate of Maritime and Port Affairs (DGAMP), to confirm the commitment of his management to working side by side maritime transport.

For him, 80% of world trade is carried out by sea and it is therefore his duty to ensure the safety of navigation in view of the importance of radio communication in the series ; maritime safety.

“Signing the document by establishing the various responsibilities, DGAMP and AIGF commit themselves to an optimal and transparent management strategy for the spectrum of “Maritime radio frequencies to the great ladies of the maritime economy,” he reassured.
