In Senegal, imports fell from 713.9 billion FCFA in June to 604.4 billion FCFA in July 2022, a drop of 15.3%.

The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (Ansd) announces a 15.3% drop in exports to Senegal. She said that the decline was due to a decrease in foreign purchases of rice (-27.2%), wheat and meslin (wheat) (-74.2%), other machinery and equipment (-19.5%), finished petroleum products (-4.6%) and other base metal articles (-58.8%). However, the increase in imports and maize (+104.4%) and the increase in imports limited this decline. Imports rose by 43.9% compared to July 2021.

At the end of July 2022, the total stood at 3965.2 billion FCFA against 2840.0 billion FCFA for the same period of 2021, an increase of 39.6%. On the other hand, the cumulative trade balance stood at -1934.8 billion FCFA in July 2022 compared to -1236.2 billion FCFA in the same period in 2021.
