On September 14, the BCEAO Monetary Policy Committee met to analyze the level of inflation in UEMOA.

Following a press release published on September 14, the BCEAO informs that “The general price level rose, year-on-year, by 7.0% in the second quarter, after 6 4.4% in the first quarter of 2022. In July 2022, it increased by 8.1%. Similarly, core inflation (inflation excluding products with volatile prices) remained high at 4.6% in the second quarter of 2022, following 4.3% a quarter earlier. These developments were mainly due to the rise in food prices that emerged to 12.3% in the second quarter, after 11.9% a quarter earlier.”
