The Nigerian government's budget for fiscal year 2023 will increase by 11.58% compared to this year's budget. The information comes from the Council of Ministers' report of Wednesday 14 September.

Niger's economy is growing thanks to reforms and major projects and investments under way in the country. To improve the resilience of the economy in the face of risks, the government has decided to increase its budget for the coming year. It will be balanced in revenue and expenditure at $4.9 billion compared to $4.4 billion this year. In addition, the government announced the revision of the initial 2022 Finance Act, with a view to implementing the President of the Republic's Act III Renaissance Program.

This revision also aims to deal with this year's crop year's deficit and the rise in the prices of basic food products d& Ucirc; to the consequences of the war in Ukraine and to a subregional security situation that still remains worrying. As a result, the budget will increase, in revenue and expenditure, to over $4.7 billion, an increase of $327.6 million representing a rate of 7.4%.
