In Senegal, the general budget expenditure executed (with the funding base taken over) during the second quarter of 2022 was 2477,62 billions FCFA. The implementation rate is estimated at 52.4% compared with the appropriations approved as of 30 June 2022.

The “Quarterly Budget Implementation Report” for the second quarter 2022 indicates that the funds implemented are divided between: regular expenditure implemented for 1493.39 billion CFA francs, representing 52.8% of the appropriations; and capital expenditure for 984.23 billion CFA francs, or 51.8 per cent of the approved appropriations.

The report adds that the debt financial charges executed during the second quarter 2022 temporarily amount to 214.31 billion FCFA, representing approximately 61.2% of the LFR1 2022 forecasts. Compared with the same period of the previous year, financial expenses increased by 20% (+35.07 billion). Domestic debt charges fell slightly by 3% (-883.06 million CFA francs) while external debt charges increased by 25% (+35.96 billion CFA).
