In Nigeria, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) ordered the closure of 52 broadcasting companies last Friday, including independent television African, Silverbird Television, and broadcasting companies managed by various state governments.

The debts incurred by broadcasting organizations amount to at least 2.6 billion naira. That's what National La Broadcasting Company declares (NBC). Director General Balarabic Ilelah told the press in Abuja on Friday that all the television and radio stations concerned should stop operating within 24 hours.

To believe it, in May 2022, the commission published in the national newspapers, a list of those who were indebted to the NBC, including the licensees, and gave them two weeks to renew their licenses and pay their debts or consider their licenses revoked and frequencies withdrawn.
