Intending to see their share of renewable energies increase to 42% in the energy mix, the Ivorian authorities have set up a major power plant project of biomass. This information was published on August 12 on the Biovea Energie LinkedIn page of the Ivorian company owned in part by EDF.

In collaboration with the Chinese company CEEC, Biovea Energie, the company behind the project, signs a new contract. Indeed, the plant they aim to create will be the first of its kind in West Africa and will help produce renewable energy with biomass for the Ivorian electricity grid. Also, 46 megawatt production will come from the plant, which will be located in the Aboisso region, a hundred kilometers from Abidjan. 232 million euros is the estimated cost of the O&P Eacute; ration is mostly financed by a loan from Proparco, a subsidiary of the French Development Agency. The ambition behind this project is to supply 1.7 million Ivorians with greener energy. In its communication, Biovea Energie emphasizes that the signing of this contract allows us to hope for an effective start of construction activities before the end of this year. And the result will be put into service to the population in 2024.
