The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) reveals a 3.8% increase in the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (IHPC) for the month of July 2022.

The Liberation Online news site, which relayed the information, noted that this variation was caused by the rise in prices of “food and drinks” non-alcoholic” (+6.3%), “leisure and cultural” services (+3.9%) and “health” services (+2.5%)”. In addition, the news site points out that “the rise in “alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics” (+1.2%), “furniture, household items and routine household maintenance” (+1.0%), as well as “clothing and footwear” (+0.9%) contributed to L&# 39; consumer price appreciation.
