Ukraine: 16 dead in a Russian strike on a shopping center, a “war crime” for the G7
A Russian bombing killed at least 16 people in a shopping mall in Ukraine on Monday, according to emergency services, provoking strong condemnation from the G7 countries meeting in Germany, which denounced a “war crime.” It is “one of the most shameless acts of terrorism in European history,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said of the bombing of a shopping center in Kremenchuk, a city 330 km south-east of Kiev, and more than 200 km from the front.
A Russian strike also killed eight civilians at a water distribution point in the east during the day, according to Kiev, which called on the G7 to end the war. “Indiscriminate attacks against innocent civilians are a war crime,” the G7 leaders said in the evening. President Emmanuel Macron denounced it as “absolute horror” and called on the Russian people to “see the truth” face to face.

At least 46 migrants found dead in a mass grave truck in Texas
The bodies of at least 46 migrants were discovered Monday in a truck near San Antonio, Texas (southern United States), firefighters said. “We have taken care of about 46 bodies so far,” said Charles Hood, who said that sixteen injured -- 12 adults and four children -- had been treated and were “conscious” while being transported to health services. Trucks such as the one found in San Antonio, about 240 km from the border with Mexico, are a means of transport frequently used by migrants wishing to enter the United States.
