Equity markets are expected to open higher ahead of U.S. inflation figures. The Eurostoxx 50 opens at 3,554.80 points (+2.79%), the CAC 40 at 6,116.91 points (+0.51%), the DAX 40 at 13,534.74 points (+1.15%), the SMI at 11,541.72 points (+0.85%), the AEX at 669.74 points (+0.54%), the BEL 20 at 3,901.59 points (+0.46%), the DJIA at 32,160.74 points (-0.26%), the Nasdaq at 11,737.67 points (+0.98%) and the Nikkei 225 at 26,218.53 points (+0.20%).
Regarding exchange rates, the change from the close in New York indicates that EUR/USD opened at 1.0543   (+0.10%), EUR/JPY at 137.43 (+0.02%) and USD/JPY at 130.36 (-0.08%).
Alstom and Ubisoft publish their annual results on Wednesday.  Thales, Unibail Rodamco Westfield, Edenred, Verallia, Nexans, JCDecaux and Spie are holding a general meeting of their shareholders. For its part, Eiffage published on Tuesday a revenue increase of 10% for the first quarter and confirmed its outlook for 2022.
European equity markets are expected to continue their rise on Wednesday, supported by a largely positive performance of Asian markets, ahead of the highly anticipated release of April inflation figures in the United States. At 7:40 a.m., the CAC 40 futures contract gained 43 points, or 0.7%, according to data from broker IG Markets. The contract on the DAX 40 took 53 points, or 0.4%, and the ftse 100 contract advanced by 32 points, or 0.5%.

On Tuesday night, Wall Street finished in scattered order, struggling to rebound after several sessions of heavy losses. The Dow Jones Index (DJIA) ended down 0.3% at 32,160.15 points. In China, the consumer price index rose 2.1 percent year-on-year in April, following a 1.5 percent rise in March, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal were expecting a 2% increase. After these data, Asian markets are moving in the green. At the end of the session, the Nikkei index gained 0.3% in Tokyo. The Hang Seng Index was up 1.8% in Hong Kong and the Shanghai Composite was up 2%.
U.S. Treasury yields fell on Tuesday and ten- and 30-year yields fell by the most in two days since March. Concerns about the growth outlook and the risk of stagflation continued to weigh on markets.
The euro is rising against the dollar on Wednesday ahead of U.S. inflation figures. However, the dollar could recover in session if the numbers are high, said Jeff Ng, currency analyst at MUFG. For its part, Danske Bank considers it possible for the euro/dollar pair to fall towards parity over the next 12 months, as the single currency has reached the target of $1.05 set by the bank.
Oil contracts are gaining ground on Wednesday, buoyed by the weak outlook for supply in the United States. On Tuesday night, the American Petroleum Institute (API) announced that U.S. crude inventories unexpectedly rose by 1.6 million barrels last week, while gasoline reserves rose by 823,000 barrels. At around 7:30 a.m., the July Contract for North Sea Brent was up $2.41 at $104.87 a barrel, and the June contract for Nymex-listed Light Sweet Crude (WTI) was up for $2.32 at $102.08 a barrel.
