French Customs reveals that exports from France to the countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) amount to 3.4 billion euros in 2021. Côte d'Ivoire remains France's leading customer .

French products purchased by WAEMU in 2021 represent 35% of flows from France to sub-Saharan Africa, up 10.8% compared to 2020. Côte d'Ivoire remains France's leading customer in the sub-region and the 2nd in sub-Saharan Africa, with French sales of 1,381.7 million euros, an increase of 22.7% driven largely by products from the food industry (+39.5% ).

In the process, the same source indicates that Senegal retains its place as the 2nd customer with French sales estimated at 813.7 million euros, up slightly by 1.6%. The main products exported by France to UEMOA are food industry products which represent 19.4% of total exports, pharmaceutical products 14.5% and industrial and agricultural machinery 12.5%.
