According to data from the Central Bank of Central African States (BEAC), inflation is at its lowest level for a year in the CEMAC zone. It fell to 1.8% in September 2021 as an annual average against 1.9% a year earlier.

The inflation rate in the CEMAC zone fell to 1.8% in September 2021 on annual average against 1.9% a year earlier according to data from the Central Bank of Central African States (BEAC). This is its lowest level for at least a year. Year-on-year, inflation fell from 2.8% at the end of September 2020 to 2% a year later. The rate will have been the highest in Cameroon with 1.1%, far from the Central African Republic (0.4%), Congo and Gabon (0.2%). Overall, inflation was driven by food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.3%) and transportation (1.8%) over the review period.
