Before the National Assembly last week, the Minister of Economy and Finance Romuald Wadagni announced good prospects for the Beninese economy. He announced that growth will be 7% as in 2021.

The provisional state budget for 2022 is 2,541,203 billion CFA francs. This provides information on a drop of CFAF 443.843 billion compared to the 2021 amending budget. But this decrease does not affect the expected growth rate. According to the Minister of Economy and Finance, Romuald Wadagni, Benin's economy will grow by 7%. What allows the government to make this projection is the expected good performance of agricultural activities, in particular cotton production and the dynamism of activity in a number of areas in relation to the continuation of projects in progress and the start of new , contained in the Government's Action Program for the 2021-2026 five-year term.
