On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, a training session initiated by the General Directorate of Tourism took place in Ouagadougou. This session is for tax payers in the tourism sector on their obligations in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT

The training session held last week is part of the dynamic of improving the effectiveness of the AML/CFT regime and consolidating the achievements of the fight for a final exit of Burkina Faso from the gray list of Groupe d' action financière (GAFI) . Tourism entrepreneurs were given three papers during the workshop.

The first communication focused on general concepts, the legal and institutional framework for the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, presented by Luc Ouédraogo, technical support officer at the General Directorate of Tourism.

The second focused on the AML/CFT obligations of taxable persons.

The last one focused on AML/CFT guarantees and sanctions provided by law, provided by Kadré Sawadogo, Tourism Industry Development Director.
