Based in Lagos, the startup Chowdeck plans to accelerate its expansion in Nigeria and Ghana. It has been operating since its foundation in 2021, in 11 cities across the two countries, serving 1.5 million customers through a network of more than 20,000 drivers, with delivery times of 30 minutes on average. According to CEO and co-founder Femi Aluko, the financing will allow 40 dark stores to open by the end of the year and 500 by 2026, while expanding the grocery footprint and reducing delivery times

chowdeck recently entered Ghana, reaching 1,000 daily orders in three months with no paid advertising, and plans to increase that figure to 5,000 daily orders by September 2025. The company aims to break even in new markets in the weeks following market entry.
