In order to support the MicroGreen project, the African Development Bank has signed an $850,000 grant agreement with Invest in Africa (IIA), a non-profit organization, with Invest in Africa (IIA), a non-profit organization. This project aims to provide livelihoods for marginalized and vulnerable groups in Ghana and Senegal

.

Strengthening the micro-entrepreneurship of women, youth and people with disabilities for the benefit of green jobs linked to natural resources or (MicroGreen, entitled Strengthening Women, Youth, and People with Disabilities' Micro-Entrepreneurship for Green Jobs in Natural Resources) in English, the project aims to create up to 500 green jobs, focusing on the agroforestry, fishing and biodiversity conservation sectors. It is financed by the Bank's African Private Sector Assistance Fund (FAPA), alongside an initial commitment of $1 million from the Bank's Multi-Donor Trust Fund for Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship to support the project over two years

.

The FAPA grant will fund the capacity and value chain building component of the MicroGreen project. Many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in fragile or transition economies such as Ghana and Senegal have limited access to entrepreneurship training and business development services.

To help overcome these challenges, the MicroGreen project will provide quality entrepreneurship training, tailored business development services, and mentoring programs for women, youth, and people with disabilities in agriculture-based sectors.
