The Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offences (CRIEF) delivered its verdict on Monday, July 28, 2025 in the case between the Guinean State, represented by the State Judicial Agent (AJE), and a former municipal prosecutor in Matoto.

After more than a year of trial, Mamadou Saidou Baldé was found not guilty of embezzlement of public funds, forgery and the use of forgeries in public writing, illicit enrichment, corruption and complicity. During the hearings, Me Amadou Babaen Camara, a lawyer for the AJE, had requested from the accused the payment of 46 billion 888 million 85 thousand 473 Guinean francs. During his pleadings on 2 June last, he also requested the conviction of Mr. Baldé to pay this amount, and GNF 1 billion in damages for all damages combined

Moreover, the decision rendered by Judge Yagouba Conté on Monday afternoon thus reinforces the position of Mamadou Saidou Baldé, who has constantly maintained his innocence throughout the trial.
