As part of the implementation of the Results-Based Financing Program for the Rwanda Energy Sector (FBR II), the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group approved financing of 173.84 million euros.

The FBR II aims to modernize the electrical grid, expand access to clean energy, and strengthen institutional capacity. Indeed, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank will provide additional financing of 86.92 million euros, bringing the total cost of the program to 260.76 million euros. This is the Bank's second performance-based operation in Rwanda's energy sector, after a $305 million program approved in September 2018.
