This funding, which aims to support two projects, was approved by the Board of Directors of the pan-African institution
.Morocco strengthens its cooperation with the ADB. The financial support obtained from this collaboration will support the Entrepreneurship Support and Financing Programme for Job Creation (PAFE-Jobs) and the second phase of the Programme to Support the Strengthening of Economic Governance and Resilience to Climate Change (PGRCC II). Worth 181.8 million euros, the first envelope will be devoted to PGRCC II. The objective of this program is to boost the Moroccan economy while strengthening its capacity to deal with external shocks, especially climate shocks. It also aims to stimulate competitiveness, encourage private investment and improve economic resilience, based on the modernization of strategic water and energy sectors. The PGRCC II is in line with Morocco's new development model, in particular through the operationalization of the new Investment Charter
.Pour sa part, The PAFE-Emplois, will mobilize 119 million euros to promote employment through the development of entrepreneurship and support for very small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Its ambition is to strengthen public mechanisms to support entrepreneurs and facilitate access to finance for inclusive initiatives, in particular those led by young people and women. This programme also seeks to set up incentive mechanisms for SMEs and to support innovative approaches for professional integration
.According to the head of the ADB country office for Morocco, Achraf Tarsim, the two operations are complementary and aim to increase the competitiveness of the national economy, stimulate private investment and create job opportunities through a integrated approach. For him, “these are all levers that create opportunities and jobs for young people and women.”
