Government spokesman Amadou Coulibaly announced that the Ivorian government has endorsed a loan agreement concluded last February with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). This funding is intended for the Agro-Industrial Cluster Project in the North-East of the Country (2PAI-NE

The loan granted to Côte d'Ivoire is estimated at 45.6 billion CFA francs (about 78.8 million dollars). The objective is to sustainably transform targeted rural areas via 2PAI-NE. According to the spokesperson, the plan is to strengthen agricultural production systems, to create processing and marketing infrastructures, as well as to improve the environment for private investment. This financing aims to lead Côte d'Ivoire towards modern agriculture, oriented to the market and offering equitable access to income opportunities that will significantly reduce poverty in the country.
