In Senegal, the turnover (Ca) of services recorded a decrease of 9.6% while that of trade fell by 5.0% in February 2025, compared to the month of January.

The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (Ansd) announced that the contraction in service turnover is mainly due to the underperformance of “Real Estate Activities” (-58.8%), “Specialized, Scientific and Technical Activities” (-58.8%), and “Specialized, Scientific and Technical Activities” (-40.5%). The underperformance is also due to that noted for “Artistic, cultural, sporting and recreational activities” (-28.9%) and “Transport” (-16.8%) over this period. The National Agency for Statistics and Demography also indicated that as far as trade is concerned, the decline in turnover is due to the decline in the activity of “Retail Trade” (-6.4%) and “Wholesale Trade” (-3.1%).
