Algeria will host the 44th Annual General Assembly (AGM) and the Shelter Afrique Development Bank (SHAfDB) Housing Symposium from 15 to 17 July 2025.

Scheduled under the theme “The financial sustainability of the housing sector in a context of global turmoil: Opportunities and challenges”, the AGM will bring together housing and finance ministers from member states, shareholders, shareholders, central banks, mayors, private developers, investors and development finance partners to explore ways to transform the promises of urban Africa into tangible and inclusive progress. This meeting will be an opportunity to review the performance of the SHAfDB, assess the progress made under its strategic initiatives, and formulate policies that will shape the institution's role in addressing Africa's housing and infrastructure challenges

The Aga agenda will include discussions on capital mobilization, innovative financing mechanisms, and public-private partnerships in order to accelerate the provision of housing. Ministerial roundtables and high-level policy dialogues will also be organized; plenary sessions to explore urban resilience, local solutions to housing challenges; technical forums, exhibitions and investment showcases, and networking sessions aimed at fostering collaboration between industry stakeholders
