The fintech FeExPay officially launched its activities in Côte d'Ivoire at a ceremony organized in Cocody Riviera Abatta on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The launch of FeExPay marks a new stage for the startup that intends to facilitate remote payments, strengthen financial inclusion and build African digital sovereignty

Business leaders, representatives of financial institutions, partners and collaborators were all present at the official launch ceremony of FeExPay. Jean-Hugues Houinsou, founder of FeExPay said on the occasion, “with the opening of our headquarters in Côte d'Ivoire, we are taking a new strategic step. We are affirming our roots in West Africa while keeping our eyes on the whole continent.” Indeed, the establishment in Côte d'Ivoire comes two years after the creation of the startup in Cotonou. The ambition of fintech is to provide an interoperability technological solution that allows businesses and individuals to send and receive money, regardless of the platform or payment method used. It is positioned as a universal gateway between bank cards, mobile money and local or foreign currencies, thanks to a technology adaptable to any digital interface. This approach aims in particular to solve the problems of compartmentalization between payment systems in West Africa, a major obstacle to the efficiency of cross-border trade

Already, the platform allows businesses to collect and make mass payments without technological barriers, whether for insurers, e-retailers or service providers, thus facilitating access to financial services even in remote areas, where customers can pay or receive payments without having to travel. Likewise, it has the possibility of processing payments in foreign currencies, a feature that is still rare in the sub-region
