In Egypt, the GDP growth rate reached 4.3% in the second quarter of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, compared to 2.3% in the same period of the previous fiscal year, said the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, this Wednesday, March 26.

Egypt's GDP growth rate increased to 4.3% in the second quarter of 2024/25, up from 2.3% in the same period of the previous year.

GDP grew at the same time as total investment, although public investment was less than 40% of the total. Several sectors supported growth, including non-oil manufacturing activity, which grew by 17.74%, and tourism activity, which jumped 18%. The fiscal year started on July 1.

Some sectors contracted in the second quarter of fiscal year 2024/25, in particular the Suez Canal, whose activity fell by 70%.
