The evolution of the IHPC is explained by the rise in food and energy prices. It results in an increase in the inflation rate, which now reached 1.2% in October 2024, which is 0.3 percentage points more than in September. Soaring prices for fresh vegetables (+9.8%), pulses (+5.9%), oils (+3.2%), and solid fuels (+2.1%) contributed to this overall increase. In addition, the fall in the prices of tubers (-8.4%), plantain (-8.4%) and spices (-2.2%) somewhat attenuated
this trend.
