NTPC Ltd's green energy subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), is preparing to file a proposed $1.2 million initial public offering (IPO) in November.

NGEL will lead the charge in NTPC's goal of adding 60GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. The green energy subsidiary of NTPC Ltd also aims to engage in pumped hydropower storage, green hydrogen, and ammonia manufacturing projects, as well as initiatives in electric mobility and wasting wealth. The company will operate through subsidiaries and joint ventures to execute its projects. NGEL wants to add 3 GW of renewable generation capacity in the current fiscal year, a threefold increase compared to the previous fiscal year
