Due to concerns about the tightening of global supply caused by the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East and between Russia and Ukraine, oil prices rose on Monday in Asian trade.

U.S. crude futures gained 40 cents, or 0.5%, to $81.03 per barrel. Brent futures rose 39 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $85.82 per barrel at 07:59 GMT. Both benchmarks fell by less than 1% last week compared to the previous week.
