The signing of a financing agreement of 109 billion CFA francs between Benin and the European Union (EU) aims to support the Government's action as part of an integrated program in the north of the country covering the areas of water and sanitation, resilience and entrepreneurship, security, vocational training and energy. It was signed during an official visit from 18 to 20 March 2024.

A delegation from Team Europe went to Benin to strengthen the partnership between the European Union (EU) and Benin. Made up of senior leaders of European institutions, several European development agencies and banks and representatives of EU Member States, the mission was able to develop fruitful exchanges with the Beninese government and proceed with the signing of several financing agreements for a total amount of 166 million euros, or about 109 billion

CFA francs.

At the end of an interministerial working session organized by Romuald Wadagni, Minister of State for Economy and Finance, Koen Doens, Director General of International Partnerships at the European Commission, and Roger Stuart, Head of the Regional Hub for West and Central Africa of the European Investment Bank (EIB), announced the mobilization of the European Union to the tune of 166 million euros, or about 109 billion CFA francs. These resources are mobilized in support of the Government's Action Program 2021-2026
