Israel: Announcement of an operation on al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza

In a statement released this morning, the Israeli army announced that it was conducting an operation on al-Chifa hospital in Gaza City, while witnesses on the spot confirmed to AFP that they heard bombardments. The soldiers “are currently conducting a targeted operation in the area of al-Shifa Hospital”, the statement said. “The operation is based on information indicating the use of the hospital by high-ranking Hamas terrorists.”
