The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has granted $22 million in financing to an integrated rural development project in Guinea.

When signing the financing protocol with the Guinean authorities, an IDB official indicated that the the funds granted should be used to finance projects in major agricultural production areas, in particular in the prefectures of Gaoual, Koundara and Mali, located in the north of the country. The development of more than 2,000 hectares of plains and lowlands, the acquisition of equipment for ploughing, harvesting and post-harvest processing to improve working conditions and make production profitable is also planned. The official said that the populations of the prefectures will be able, thanks to this financing, to benefit from the construction of basic social services such as roads, schools, health centers, crossing infrastructures, in order to open them
